OPPORTUNITY
HealthPlanOne (HPONE) is looking to fill an immediate need with an addition for a Proposal Writer to drive the proposal process from RFP analysis and planning to writing and execution of final proposal materials. The Proposal Writer will collaborate with internal HPONE teams on business development projects and track RFP activity. The Proposal Writer will be a key member of the HPONE marketing team — supporting the lead-generation effort and ultimately working to continuously improve the HPONE RFP win rate.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the proposal process from inception through submission. This includes requesting/conducting initial research, review of opportunity and strategic analysis, coordinating proposal schedules and deadlines, developing project plans/timelines, and adhering to proposal guidelines and firm policies.
  • Lead and/or manage the proposal creation process for the responses HPONE develops RFPs and RFIs (Requests For Information) received
  • Work with sales and product management to qualify and prioritize requests, identify winning themes and positioning points related to each request
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts throughout the organization to ensure all responses in the proposal are of high quality and are developed promptly
  • Proofread proposals for content, grammar, style, formatting; edit, organize, and pull attachments and exhibits for responses
  • Consistently implement HPONE brand messaging, including tone, style, and theme, within all responses.
  • Compile and maintain marketing literature to facilitate RFP production and periodic database updates; establish, review, and update content organized in the marketing database
  • Electronically archive and index HPONE responses to RFPs and RFIs; support pipeline reporting requirements; and help implement win-loss analysis
  • Prepare and deliver the final proposal document to the entity that requested it
  • Proactively work to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the RFP response process 
 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing winning proposals required
  • 2+ years of experience working within the healthcare industry, or related field preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent project management skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®) a plus
  • Strong marketing, planning, and analytical skills
  • High degree of flexibility to accommodate change in a fast-paced environment
  • The position will work in the Trumbull, CT office
