OPPORTUNITY
To continue, and accelerate, this revenue growth, the Company has expanded into Stars Solutions, a business unit to aid health plans in closing care gaps and improving quality of care, thereby increasing their CMS Stars Ratings. The Stars Solutions program consists of three interlocking components: Data Analytics, Targeted Outreach, and Outbound Intelligence. We are expanding our business development team to drive the rapid growth of this new business unit. The VP Business Development is responsible for developing relationships with health insurance companies with both new and existing clients. This position requires an effective executive who can identify potential deals and develop the tactics needed to bring them to fruition.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assume responsibility for the entire sales cycle including prospecting, networking, customizing presentations, presenting, negotiating and executing contracts, and ultimately closing deals
  • Structure detailed strategic plans for maintaining existing and building new business relationships at the targeted health plans, both at the “C” level and with medical management who have oversight of Stars programs, consistent with the company’s overall strategy
  • Own the business pipeline: identify and evaluate specific business opportunities with new and existing health plan clients
  • Interface directly with current customers to maintain their overall satisfaction with HPO products and services as well as seeking new revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a seamless implementation of new customers and effective management of existing clients
  • Summarize learning from the field and contribute to ongoing dialogue of customer needs assessment, market and industry analysis, and product definition
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to conceive and create the materials required to successfully engage with and convert the target firms to clients
  • Identify, coordinate and attend industry conferences and trade shows
  • Update QuickBase reporting system on weekly basis with client information, contact history, and next steps
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience selling to health plan medical executives responsible for Medicare, Quality and Stars
  • Experience in sales with clear records of success and progression of responsibility
  • Knowledge of and experience in; CMS Star Ratings system for health plans from a strategic level in terms of how the program affects health plans and patient care, down to a detailed level of the individual measures; knowledge of HEDIS
  • B.S. degree minimum, advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • Client interface skills, both as part of a larger team presentation and in small working sessions
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills, with the ability to influence across the company and lead cross-functional teams and to be part of teams
  • Quantitative and analytic skills
  • Ability to define data requirements with large and complex data sets from multiple sources to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to define reporting needs to achieve business objectives
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines
  • Driven, results-oriented, with ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the continental U.S.; minimum 30% travel required
